Mildred Ann Adams.

Mon Jun 19, 2006, 4:38 AM
My mom is my hero. There were countless times that she'd sacrifice for me and my eleven year old brother, Dillon. We've had some hard times in our life, and she was always by our side, always reminding us to keep our chin up, and get back up on our feet when life pushed us down. She always made sure we had the best of everything, even if we had to suffer for a while, and when we did have hard times, she was a real trooper... she was extremely intelligent, and with a heart of gold... there weren't many people that wasn't happy whenever she was around.

Words can't describe the kind of person my mother was. She was the best mother anyone could ever be... and the best friend you could ask for. Whether it be talking about serious issues, or gossiping about celebrities or boys, she always had a gentle ear for everything, and advice to go with it.

Her name was Mildred Ann Adams, and she died on August 24, 2005, just three days after her fourty-second birthday. The world suffered a great loss that day, and it was very unexpected as well. It was an extremely difficult time then, but she lives through me, and through Dillon, and through the good times that we spent together.

Like me, my mother liked to write poetry. She had a brilliant way with words. Some of her works were even published. She took great joy in her writing. She only wrote to inspire others through the hard times, and her words touched many people. This account is dedicated to her memory. In its gallery, is her original poetry. It's only going to be a small gallery, for there are very few works that that I have access to. The things faved on this account are emphasis on her favorite things, the little things in life that meant so much to her.

"Mom, you are our hero, and everything that you taught us will live on through us. We love you and miss you terribly. Our lives have changed so much, without you... it will never be the same again. One day, we know we'll all meet again, and we will walk together, wherever the road leads us. There is no other love like a mother's love for her child, and your love will radiate through our hearts until the end of time.

We thank you for our life, and for our lessons, and we thank the one above us for the most precious time we spent with you. We will love you and miss you forever, mama. Rest In Peace..."

This journal brought tears to my eyes. My mother is still alive and I can't imagine the kind of pain I'd feel when that time comes ...

I'll read through her poetry when I'm feeling a little less emotional ...

I think it's great that you're doing this for her ...

I'm not tense. I'm just terribly, terribly alert.

I may not know who you are, and I may have come across this site by accident, and I cannot, nor hope to for many years hence, truly understand the pain your family has felt...But to quote Friedrich Nietzsche: "What else is love but understanding and rejoicing in the fact that another person lives, acts, and experiences otherwise than we do…?"

You exemplify that in sharing with all of dA your mother's unique brand of poetry. Giving a look into the way she lived life...
This cyber-monumnet is on of the best ideas I have seen in a long time :)

Godspeed!

Mrs. Robinson, if you don't mind my saying so, this conversation is getting a little strange
